Convoy of Hope’s 5K with a global feel is back with the Run to feedONE event on Saturday, September 20, 2014. Join runners in a walk, run or jog through themed mile markers, enjoy post-race food and goodies in our international village and raise money to feed children around the world.
If you cannot make it to our event in Springfield, sign up for the Virtual 5K! Each Virtual “Runner” will receive a welcome packet with an official running bib! Take pictures of yourself “running” and wearing your bib in some of the most obscure places and share them on social media! Together, we can ensure that there will be “food for everyone!”
Join Convoy of Hope this holiday season to help the poor and suffering around the world by doubling any financial gift you give. Recently, one of Convoy of Hope’s long-time friends generously offered an unlimited match that will double any gift given to our Feed the World Fund — Thanksgiving day through Christmas day.
When should I give?
Anytime starting Thanksgiving day and running through Christmas day.
How much should I give?
This limitless matching challenge gift will mean twice as many bags of groceries for struggling families at our Community Events — twice as many children fed — twice as much emergency aid in the aftermath of disasters. Any gift you make will double the impact you make.
Hollywood Records’ Platinum-selling artist, Zendaya recently released a cover of John Legend’s “All of Me.” Zendaya joined Max and Kurt Schneider to record the song with a portion of the proceeds going to Convoy of Hope.
“My generation has the opportunity to change the world,” says Zendaya. “With Convoy of Hope, I’ve raised my voice and I’m using it to give hope to people around the world.”
Zendaya has been an advocate for Convoy of Hope since Hurricane Sandy devastated parts of New York and New Jersey in 2012, promoting disaster response efforts by the organization. The singer urged her fans to text a $10 donation to help with relief efforts.
Since then, Zendaya has offered her voice and influence to tell Convoy of Hope’s story to her millions of followers on social media. In 2013, Zendaya also encouraged fans to support Convoy of Hope after tornadoes ravaged Oklahoma and when Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines.
Like many people her age, Stephanie felt compelled to take a stand against hunger and poverty, but simply didn’t know where to start. Through her involvement with Convoy of Hope, she learned about feedONE. After reading about the lives being affected through Convoy of Hope’s feeding initiatives, Stephanie realized that becoming an ambassador was the best way to make a difference.
A college student, Stephanie knew it wasn’t possible for her to give a lot. She did, however, understand that with feedONE she could make an impact with just $10 a month. She also knew that although it wasn’t possible for her to physically feed every child herself, she could raise awareness in other ways.
As we know, it takes more than one person to eradicate global poverty. Partnering with feedONE is a step toward lasting change. All over the world, individuals, colleges, churches, and organizations are mobilizing to ensure that everyone, everywhere, has access to their most basic needs; food, clean drinking water, and education.
Want to know more about feedONE? You’re invited to our World Distribution Center for One Night to feedONE on Wednesday, May 28th, 2014.
Our feedONE initiative has teamed up with Hurts Donut Company and Askinosie Chocolate to fight hunger one donut and one meal at a time. Starting today through the end of May, Hurts Donut Company will be selling the “Hunger Hurts” donut, a tasty combo of donut, rice pudding and Askinosie cocoa nibs. For each donut purchased, the equivalent of the cost of a meal for a child in our Children’s Feeding Initiative is donated back to our feedONE initiative.
