A member of Convoy of Hope’s Disaster Response team recently testified before the House Committee on Homeland Security’s Subcommittee on Emergency Communications, Preparedness and Response.

“The invitation to address the House subcommittee was a great honor for our Disaster Response team,” says Hal Donaldson, president of Convoy of Hope. “It was an acknowledgment of Convoy of Hope’s effectiveness and efficiency in disaster settings in the United States and around the world.  It’s more important than ever for the sectors of influence to work together in times of disaster.”

Steve Irwin, director of agency services for Convoy of Hope and Chair of the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster Donations Management Committee, testified on the uniqueness and strengths of Convoy of Hope’s time-tested distribution models as well as the power of working with like-minded organizations, corporations and government agencies during times of disaster.
