Compassion Definition Contest

Share

Recently we asked you—our dedicated community on twitter and facebook—to give us your best definition of the word “compassion.”

The prize for the chosen definitions was this book by our co-founder David Donaldson. The results were phenomenal.

60 of you either tweeted a definition, retweeted one, or wrote a definition on our facebook page. Because of the power of your social communities it’s likely that between 25,000 and 30,000 people were exposed to your definitions of compassion.

We’ve chosen two winners from facebook and two winners from twitter. According to the winners, compassion is:

“No filter on your love.” -Lynda from facebook

“Being a witness to a situation, trial, etc. and know in an instant that you just can’t stand by and watch. You feel like you are among those affected, and are moved beyond yourself and your personal situation to DO SOMETHING!” -Stacey from facebook

“Your pain in my heart.” -Bettie from twitter.

“Love and grace paid forward.” -Jonathan from twitter.

To see other definitions given take a look at facebook and twitter.
