Easter Breakfast at the White House

A representative from Convoy of Hope joined other leaders recently for an Easter breakfast at the White House with President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama.

“We’ve had many opportunities like this in the past with previous administrations,” says David Donaldson, co-founder of Convoy of Hope and executive in charge of strategic partnerships and government relations, who attended the breakfast. “We have a growing relationship with this administration, especially with Michelle Obama’s nutrition initiatives.”

Convoy of Hope is also working closely with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships to develop strategies for the faith-based community.

“People in need should have access to the best services and government is the largest referral system for social services,” adds Donaldson. “By building a partnership, faith-based organizations are not marginalized when those in need look for services.”
