Students throughout the nation donated 53,000 hygiene kits to Convoy of Hope for distribution in Haiti.
“We are overwhelmed by the energy and sacrifice of people who donated the kits to help people they will probably never meet,” says Ron Showers, who oversaw the hygiene kits project for Convoy of Hope. “Because of their efforts they helped save people’s lives and provided families with hope for another day.”
Each of the kits contained antibacterial soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, hand towel, comb and shampoo that will not only keep people clean but can help prevent the spread of diseases.
“For those who were displaced by the earthquake the kits give them a sense of normalcy they’ve been lacking,” says Kevin Rose, Haiti country director for Convoy of Hope.
