Victory Fellowship Partners with Convoy of Hope

For the twentieth consecutive year, Victory Fellowship of Metairie, Louisiana hosted the fourth of July “Feed the Multitudes” outreach. This was Convoy of Hope’s third year partnering with them to provide the groceries, and logistical, financial, and emotional support.

Located on the shore of Lake Ponchartrain, over five hundred volunteers from as far away as Seattle, Washington came to serve the residents of a city still rebuilding five years after Hurricane Katrina. One local resident was in tears reliving the memories, but was thankful for the people who still cared about what the people of New Orleans are going through.

The biggest draw of the day was the free lunch that consisted of red beans and rice, jambalaya, chicken, craw fish, etouffee, hot dogs, cake, cupcakes, watermelon, and a host of other desserts.

With live entertainment, free haircuts, facials, manicures, pedicures, hair washing, free medical services, and a kides zone with games, concessions and water slides, four thousand guests were given a great reason to celebrate on this fourth of July.

Thousands of guests headed home with both their hearts and grocery bags full.
