A Convoy of Hope disaster assessment team recently visited three towns in southeast Missouri where floodwaters have now receded.
The team spoke with emergency management officials and leaders of other disaster response organizations to assess where Convoy of Hope is most needed.
“Convoy of Hope workers equipped with a debris removal trailer are ready to respond to help clean up and mitigate further damage to homes,” says Karen Benson, director of disaster response for Convoy of Hope.

“Considering the frequency and severity of the disasters we’ve responded to so far this year, the best way people can help Convoy of Hope assist victims is by giving of their financial resources to help keep our supply trucks on the road,” Benson adds.
Since mid-April Convoy of Hope has shipped six loads of water, ready-to-eat meals and flood buckets containing cleaning supplies to flood ravaged communities. This number is sure to increase as the flooding moves southward into Louisiana.
