"Inspirational. Refreshing. Visionary. These are just a few of the words I would use to describe HopeWalk 2007. As we walked into some of the greatest poverty in the world, instead of being overwhelmed by despair, I was truly filled with hope. Convoy of Hope and the churches in Nairobi are making a tremendous impact. More than just spending resources to change lives, I witnessed a comprehensive plan to move people from despair to hope. My life will never be the same."
George Raduano - Pastor, Trinity Assembly of God, Lutherville, Maryland

“My participation in the Hope Walk in 2007 was very meaningful. I was exposed to the important work that Convoy of Hope is doing on the African Continent, and as a result, there are a couple of initiatives that we are now pursuing in Africa that would have not happened if I had not been on this trip. In addition, one of the unexpected outcomes from the trip, was several new friendships that have developed – friendships that have not only blessed me personally, but friendships that have served to advance the Kingdom as well.”

“We see it on TV, we read about it in books, we hear others talk about it, but until we’ve experienced first-hand the desperate poverty of our fellow man, our hearts will not engage. If you are looking to find purpose for your life, this is the trip. Not only will your involvement bring hope to the life of a Kenyan, it will forever positively alter the way you live yours.”

"Thank you for inviting me to team with you and the others of HopeWalk 2007. It was truly a life changing experience. Never have I seen such need; never have I felt that my efforts could make such a difference. HopeWalk enabled me to share my faith in very tangible ways. Our team was able to literally put shoes on hundreds of children’s feet. I was able to give blankets from my church to a number of AIDS orphans. I am still in the process of raising money for some water wells which will supply clean, fresh water to people who are in desperate need of water today. In short, HopeWalk is making a difference and I feel as if I have a part in making that difference.
When I am old and rocking in my rocking chair, I won’t tell my grandchildren about some last second shot in a basketball game or of some touchdown pass that I threw. Rather, I will tell them about a trip that I made to Africa. And how, I was a part of a team that told people about Jesus and how then we acted like Jesus in feeding the hungry, giving water to the thirsty, and clothes to those who needed clothes. In fact, I may still be talking about my trip to Kenya a thousand years from now!"

“I felt empty, like I had nothing to offer. It was such an overwhelming need and I was only one person. Then, the Lord touched my heart and told me to do something. If my little part effects or in anyway leads someone else to participate, then it can make a difference. God reminded me that He is the quantity, I needed merely to be obedient.
The boxes of shoes and socks were on the stage in the small auditorium for 3 days prior to our arrival. The children were abuzz with festivity in the air as if the greatest day of their young lives. They spent 45 minutes dancing, writing poems and singing for us as a way to thank us for the shoes and socks they were about to put on, all waiting 3 days to do it. What sweet spirits those children have. When I put a new pair of socks and shoes on the little boy named Jackson, the first he ever received, he ran and jumped. Then he wanted me to take his picture with them on. Two hours later, I tried to take the price tags off, but he would not let me, as the entire process was Christmas to him."
