First/Second Graders Sort Seeds to help Hungry around the World
Springfield, Mo. - Convoy of Hope is getting a helping hand, actually twenty pint-sized hands, with its international agricultural program, Seeds of Hope. A representative of the organization will be visiting Parkcrest Assembly of God’s Missionettes program for first and second grade girls this evening. The girls will hear about hunger in other countries prior to sorting seeds destined to help needy families around the world.
The Missionettes program begins at 7 p.m. tonight, at Parkcrest Assembly of God, 3581 south Kansas Avenue, in Springfield.
Through its Seeds of Hope program, Convoy of Hope distributes seeds and provides agricultural education. Through the effort impoverished people are able to help themselves and create self-sustaining communities.
Convoy of Hope has sent 115,000 seed packets to countries around the world, including Panama, Philippines, El Salvador, Honduras, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, South Africa, Venezuela, Uzbekistan, and Equatorial Guinea since the program’s inception last year.
