Convoy of Hope Responds to Flooding in Louisiana

Convoy of Hope’s Disaster Services team is responding to historic flooding in Louisiana. Many rivers have crested several feet above record level, which means communities that have never flooded before are now flooding.

“A truckload of food, water, cleaning supplies and hygiene kits has already been delivered and is being distributed,” says Hal Donaldson, president and co-founder of Convoy of Hope. “An additional two loads of relief supplies will arrive in the affected areas later today.”

According to Donaldson, once the Disaster Services team meets immediate needs, they will shift into helping families remove debris and clean their homes.

“As with all disasters we respond to, we plan to help families get back on their feet,” Donaldson adds. “Sometimes that can take weeks, months or even years.”

Convoy was among the first organizations to respond. For more information and to follow the response, visit convoyofhope.org.
