SPRINGFIELD, Mo.Thousands of families were displaced following Tropical Storm Koppu which tore through the Philippines earlier this month.
Convoy of Hope's team in Manila has been responding to those immediate needs by distributing tarps, lamps and hygiene kits to families in need. So far, more than 75,000 meals have been distributed.
We have also worked with nearly 400 volunteers who have put in more than 1,400 hours to assist families in need.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.Our work in the Philippines continues for families affected by Typhoon Koppu.
We have distributed more than 50,000 meals, 2,000 hygiene kits and we've partnered with 129 volunteers who have completed hundreds of volunteer hours to help those in need.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.Since our response in the Philippines began, we have served nearly 2,000 families, provided more than 38,000 meals and have activated 35 volunteers. Additional items distributed include tarps, lamps and hygiene kits.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.Convoy of Hope's team in the Philippines began distribution in the Quezon province for 70 participants from the Women's Empowerment Initiative affected by the storm. Supplies included food from Meals from the Heartland and hygiene kits from Heart to Heart.
The team has also packed more than 1,500 bags of supplies to distribute in Northern Luzon.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.Convoy of Hope's Disaster Services team is monitoring Tropical Storm Koppu, which is gaining strength and is expected to become a typhoon in the upcoming days. The storm is likely to produce torrential rainfall, which may trigger flash flooding and mudslides in the Philippines.
We have a team ready to respond as needed and supplies pre-positioned in the Convoy of Hope warehouse in Manila.
