Convoy of Hope Responds to Public Health Emergency in Louisiana

USA Reported by Convoy of Hope

Convoy of Hope has sent three truckloads of water to St. Joseph, Louisiana, after Governor John Bel Edwards declared a Public Health Emergency. Officials found water in the area contaminated with lead and copper.

Residents have been advised to use an alternative source of water for drinking, preparing food, and brushing their teeth while the water system is being repaired.

The National Guard is also providing water and we will continue to work with Convoy’s local partners to identify what is needed in the days ahead.
