Chick-fil-A Packs Two Million Meals for Convoy To Distribute

USA Reported by Convoy of Hope

Chick-fil-A is famous for their sandwiches, but their desire to feed the hungry took center stage this week.

The fast-food giant teamed up with Convoy of Hope and U.S. Hunger on February 5 by organizing a meal-packing event during their annual conference in Orlando, Florida. Thousands of Chick-fil-A owner-operators and corporate staff attendees volunteered to pack 2 million meals in less than two hours.

“This incredible undertaking reflects Chick-fil-A’s genuine commitment to giving back and serving others,” said Daniel Burns, Convoy of Hope’s senior director of Corporate Relations. “Hunger and food insecurity are critical issues in the U.S. and beyond, and we applaud Chick-fil-A for their proactive efforts to improve the livelihood of others throughout the communities they serve.”

Chick-fil-A owners and operators pack meals for Convoy of Hope to distribute to communities in need.

One million of the meals packed will be distributed during Convoy’s responses to disasters to help provide immediate relief to survivors. The other million meals will help combat food insecurity in underserved communities throughout the United States.

“One of Chick-fil-A’s core values is ‘We’re here to serve,’” said Convoy of Hope National Spokesperson Ethan Forhetz. “It’s inspiring to watch companies like Chick-fil-A serve the hungry and those in poverty, and we’re honored to work with them this week to do just that.”

Convoy works with organizations and businesses around the U.S. to help them achieve their social responsibility goals and serve people with compassion. Whether it’s through gift-in-kind donations or volunteer packing nights, Convoy strives to provide organizations with the opportunities they’re looking for to show kindness to their surrounding communities. To find out more about how we partner with businesses, visit Convoy’s corporate partner page.
