Prepared to Respond | National Preparedness Month

Disaster strikes without much warning. Hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes and other disasters don’t wait until it’s convenient — because it never is. Storms tear through communities causing mass destruction leaving survivors to pick up the pieces.

Our Disaster Services team is constantly exploring ways to be more effective in our disaster response through monitoring, assessing and responding.

Earlier this year, our team completed a mock deployment exercise to help identify any deficiencies with the equipment and processes used during an actual disaster. Stacy Lamb, disaster services support director says this helps increase efficiency during an actual deployment.

“Disaster can strike at any time and most people are not prepared,” says Lamb. “This is just one way we try to prepare before disaster strikes.”

Here at Convoy of Hope, we are bent on being prepared to respond to natural disasters. September is National Preparedness Month and we will do our best to show you how we are prepared to respond to disasters throughout the world and how you and your family can be prepared too.

Visit The Hope Supply each Monday this month to get your weekly checklist.
