PARADISE, CA — Convoy of Hope continues to respond to the deadly Camp Fire that raged through the city of Paradise, California. The fire claimed 85 lives, making it the sixth deadliest fire in U.S. history. Eleven people are still reported missing.

Since the fire started on November 8, Convoy of Hope has distributed food, water and relief supplies to more than 20,000 people affected by the fire. To date, 243 volunteers have given 1,480 hours of their time to aid Convoy in our efforts.

“Convoy is committed to the communities reeling from this catastrophe and is actively working with local partners to make sure residents needs are met,” says Senior Director of U.S. Response Stacy Lamb. According to Lamb, the city of Paradise is still inaccessible to the public, but Convoy is continuing to help those who are living temporarily in nearby areas.

Convoy’s involvement in Paradise, California, will continue for the foreseeable future. Once access to Paradise resumes, plans are in place to partner with what is understood to be the only surviving church in Paradise.

Before the start of the Camp Fire, Convoy of Hope already had product in California from our response to the Redding Fire earlier this year.
